This proposed session covers how crowdsourcing can assist in the development of an institutional repository. Using the "Documenting Ferguson" Omeka site managed by Washington University (http://digital.wustl.edu/ferguson/), the session will instruct libraries how they can create an Omeka-based repository that utilizes the Contribution plugin (http://omeka.org/add-ons/plugins/contribution/). This permits users to anonymously submit content to a repository. It is a fascinating way of gathering content from current events or materials dealing with sensitive topics. Additionally, it is an easy way to permit multiple institutions to collaborate on a particular archival project.
Other methods of crowdsourcing repositories will be discussed.
