Finding Empirical Teaching Methods in FCIL

This session will introduce how to find the most effective teaching methods and skills based on empirical evidence from international law and foreign law research classes in a different time and place . It will introduce which research methods (between qualitative and quantitative research methods) are more appropriate in order to find out effective teaching methods and skills in the context of international and foreign legal research classes. It will also introduce how we adopt and train observers, how we most effectively observe students’ behaviors in a class, and how we draft interview and assessment questions, etc. Finally, the session will introduce how to analyze compiled data and make conclusions on international and foreign legal research skills.
