Information Management

Standards, standards, standards

As librarians, we are familiar with the importance of standards; consistent application of standards makes the work of describing and discovering information resources easier. What standards are out there? Look at the work of NISO. Recommended practices such as PIE-J: The Presentation & Identification of E-Journals, SUSHI Protocol: COUNTER-SUSHI Implementation Profile, and KBART: Knowledge Bases and Related Tools Recommended Practice are all best practices designed to make the management of library resources work better.
