The Office of Management and Budget has just released the long-awaited update to Circular A-130, the overarching framework for federal information policy. The circular, which covers a wide variety of topics, has not been updated since 2000.

Vendor Statistics--Are we asking the right questions?

Is it enough to ask vendors to supply "COUNTER-compliant" statistics? Some vendors, e.g. Hein, are unable to do so. We need to ask for the data we seek in more precise ways, but how? What is it we really want to know?

This program will introduce cataloging and ERM concepts to this who have don't know all that much about it but should. RDA-what? Proxy server--huh? Remote access--how did they do that?
