Many thanks to the panelists who presented "Fear and Loathing in Teaching Legal Research: Addressing Cultural Competence and Managing Implicit Bias" at AALL20. I would like to learn more about how implicit bias manifests in various aspects of legal research and law librarianship, both from a technical perspective (e.g. search term equivalencies, subject headings) and from a patron-service perspective (e.g. reference, education, outreach). Suggestions for increasing personal awareness of bias and assisting marginalized patrons who are impacted by implicit bias would be greatly appreciated.
